Galerie Perrotin
Matignon
Perrotin’s gallery dedicated to the secondary market opened on 7 September 2021 at 8 avenue Matignon, with a major group exhibition bringing together a wide range of artists and periods, reflecting the diversity of this new activity. The space is designed to allow great freedom in display and flexibility in programming, which will evolve in response to current events and be marked by a series of exhibitions.

Art galleries are usually defined by shopfronts that open onto the street and allow views in from the public space. In this case, the existing building had very limited glazing. The project therefore focuses on enlarging the glazed areas and refining the window frames to express the desired openness, while remaining consistent with the original rhythm of the façade bays.

After one year of work, the new 400 m² gallery opens in a rapidly changing district that has once again become a key destination in Paris. It is located just a few steps from major auction houses such as Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Artcurial, and Piasa, as well as many other galleries.
