Since 2014, Atelier Senzu has upheld a studio-based working culture—both the pedagogical model from which we come and the professional framework we strive to develop. The studio is a place of exchange, where individual skills and strengths are brought forward through the collective making of a shared project.
Our approach is one of hybridity: thinking and building with all forms of knowledge—those inherited from the past, those acquired through research, and those made possible by progress—bringing them together by questioning and regenerating what already exists, with optimism and a clear awareness of the immense responsibilities architects bear toward people and their environments.
In the face of climate change and resource depletion, financial constraints and spatial standardization, increasing demands from clients and restrictive regulations, we continually reassess our architectural practice. We seek alternatives to energy-intensive and polluting materials, both by developing innovative processes and by re-examining older techniques.
We are convinced that this paradigm shift must be grounded in material experimentation, and that it is more necessary than ever to forge close ties between architects and those who shape matter itself: industrial producers, manufacturers, fabricators, and craftspeople.
