The building is organised into two main parts: a public reception area and a private area for the Chamber. The public spaces are restored and enhanced, while the second part—conceived as a functional “machine”—is fully modernised. The transparency between these two areas expresses the idea of openness.
Extensive renovation of the Paris Chamber of Notaries
The project is located on Place du Châtelet in Paris. It involves transforming an existing administrative building into a space that welcomes both notaries and the public, while also providing efficient and flexible office areas.
To reflect the renewal of the profession, the entire ground floor is transformed to open the interior toward the street and invite the public inside. Existing elements are reused on site to create furniture, flooring, and parts of the wall finishes.

The upper floors are organised according to levels of privacy. Spaces open to the public are directly connected to the public realm and the main staircase. At the rear of the building, a stack of open office floors is arranged around a curved courtyard. Office life is now structured around two shared spaces: one covered and one outdoors.
